I’m originally from California, but I’ve lived most of my life in France. I continued my studies here, got married, raised a family and pursued a career as a teacher of English as a foreign language, all in the eastern city of Besançon. This explains my French connection, why so many French people read and follow my blog and why some comments are made and answered in French. I’ve recently retired from a forty-year career in the French National Education System and now I plan to spend a good amount of time travelling. You can read about my travels here.

Cheers, John
